Although, the specs sheet peculiarly looks identical, there are certain subtle changes that you shouldn’t ignore. First of all, Celkon is still new to this field and there is no announcement regarding the availability of the next Android update. You will be missing a chunk of new features and refinement for sure. The die-hard fans of custom ROM and rooting will have to wait for intolerably long time for someone to come ahead and provide you support.

Specs Comparison:

Let’s compare the specifications of Celkon A119 Signature and Canvas HD. Micromax has the upper hand in this department as far as processor below the aesthetic matters. The 1.2 GHz quad core processor of Canvas HD should give better performance compared to dual core processor of A119 Signature HD. Besides that, internal storage, external storage and RAM are similar, but a lot more depends on the processor it supports. Micromax Canvas HD has 8MP primary camera compared to 12MP camera of A119 Signature HD of Celkon, however, one cannot judge the camera quality by pixels. There are a lot more things that add to it. Same is the case with front facing camera. In our detailed review, we mentioned the issue with the picture quality of Canvas HD camera.

Celkon has a slightly stronger battery, but the difference is big enough to draw any conclusion.

Silicon has adopted a smart strategy of keeping the price below Micromax Canvas HD to grab more eyeballs. A119 Signature is priced at Rs. 13,500 which is almost Rs.1000 less compared to Micromax Canvas HD.

Personal Take

Our personal take (not just as a Micromax fan) is that Micromax Canvas HD is undeniably a better option at the price tag. Even, the local retailers have started getting the stock, so availability should no longer be an issue. Surprisingly, more and more online stores have started displaying Canvas HD as an upcoming device. So you should be able to get it online very soon. Spending Rs.1000 extra for a quad core processor is a smart choice. You will get better performance and will be able to enjoy high quality games without any lag.
